The Embassy of the State of Qatar in Athens celebrates the National Day H.E. Mr. Waleed bin Mohammed Al-Emadi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Hellenic Republic, held a reception on the occasion of the National Day of the State of Qatar. The ceremony was attended by a large gathering of senior officials in the Greek government, members of the Greek Parliament, a large number of businessmen, Media, Ambassadors and members of the Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations accredited to the Hellenic Republic, in addition to members of the of Arabic and Islamic communities in Athens. In his speech on this occasion, HE the Ambassador of the State of Qatar welcomed the dignitaries and stressed that "We celebrate this National Day in 2021 under the slogan "Ancestral meadows: A matter of trust", which reflects the close – knit relationship of the Qataris with their environment, where they grew up and were influenced by its characteristics to shape and strengthen their identity, whereas its simplicity overwhelms morality, humility, common sense, words and politics aiming to create a fertile ground for the internal and external relations of their country. The Principals of the Foreign Policy of the State of Qatar are based on the foundation of peace, security, stability, cooperation and friendship among all countries. On this basis, the State of Qatar has confirmed its support for peaceful resolution of conflicts, through mediating between all the friendly countries.

H.E. Mr. Waleed Al- Emadi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Hellenic Republic hosted a ceremony on the occasion of the start of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. A number of their Excellencies officials and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the Hellenic Republic attended the ceremony.

His Excellency Mr. Waleed Al Emadi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Hellenic Republic, participated in the Political & Economic Conference, which was organized by the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association - AHEPA), entitled «Restart of the Greek Economy - The Contribution of the U.S.A to the Economic Development and Stability of the Eastern Macedonia & Thrace Region», on November 5 – 6, 2022 in Komotini

His Excellency Mr. Waleed Al Emadi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Hellenic Republic, participated in the 11th Arab - Greek Economic Forum, which was organized by the Arab-Greek Chamber of Commerce and Development on October 25-26, 2022, entitled "Greece and the Gulf Cooperation Council" in Athens . His Excellency during his speech referred to the Greek-Qatari bilateral relations and the most prominent achievements of the State of Qatar in the fields of economy and investments, especially the FIFA World Cup 2022 and Qatar's Vision 2030.

Today His Excellency Waleed bin Mohammed Al-Emadi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Hellenic Republic, signed the Book of Condolences at the British Embassy in Athens, in respect of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Minister of Justice H.E Mr. Masoud bin Mohammed Al Ameri, met with Minister of Justice to the Hellenic Republic H.E Mr. Kostas Tsiaras, during his official visit to Athens. During an official working session, the two sides discussed means of strengthening legal cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Hellenic Republic. Also the two sides discussed aspects of joint cooperation between the two friendly countries in the legal and legislative fields. This includes working to activate the joint cooperation agreement in the legal field between the ministries of justice in the two countries, which was signed in Doha in October 2021. The two sides discussed the importance of exchanging joint experiences, training and legal qualification, benefiting from the experience of the two countries in the fields of justice services and employing digital transformation projects to develop legal professions. They also touched on strengthening legal and judicial cooperation at various levels to combat international crimes, including transnational organised crimes, in addition to discussing a number of issues of common interest.

The @MOPHQatar has announced changes to existing COVID-19 measures for citizens, residents and visitors in the State of Qatar. These changes come into effect on Thursday 1 September 2022.

His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and HE Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic Kyriakos Mitsotakis held an official talks session at the Amiri Diwan on Monday morning. During the session, they discussed aspects of developing joint cooperation, especially in the economy and investment fields, and exchanged views on prominent regional and international issues.
