1- Arriving at the airport
According to the instructions of international and local airlines, all passengers must arrive at the airport at least two hours before the scheduled time of flight departure, in order to finalize all procedures for the trip.
2- Baggage Allowance
- Baggage allowance may vary depending on the flight destination and on the ticket class, please check the terms and conditions printed on the ticket.
- Fees may apply if you exceed the weight allowance and/or the number of bags allowed. Contact your airlines local office for more information.
- The weight of any bag should not exceed the 32 kg (70 lbs).
- The maximum size of the handbag is (50 x25x37 cm) (20x10x15 inches).
- Laptops and laptops bags will be considered within the handbag weight allowance.
- These standards do not include personal items such as portable small bags, ladies bags, walking sticks, cameras, and purchases from the duty free market that have been purchased on the same day of your trip.
3- Prohibited and restricted items
As per the terms and conditions of public transportation, and as per instructions of the International Air Transport Association in regards to the transportation of dangerous goods, due to the threats posed on the safety of the passengers, the transportation of the following goods is forbidden at all times, whether in the baggage or in the handbags, whether for a passenger or a crew member, these goods are:
4- Permitted items:
- You are allowed to carry liquids, gels, sprays and pastes in containers no larger than 100 ml (3.4 oz). containers larger than 100 ml will not be allowed even if were not completely filled, you have to put these containers in a 20 x 20 cm (8.8 inches) re-closeable transparent plastic bags, all items mentioned above must be carefully packed inside these plastic bags, and must be checked at the airports check points. These restrictions do not apply to infant foods or medicines, though you will be required to show a medical certificate at the airport for drugs that you would like to carry on the plane. To transport olive oil, the bottle must be packed in a special wooden box, or bought from the duty free market at the airport; small bottles can be put into baggage after being closed tightly.
Rules
The most important law adopted by the Greek government for alien citizens who are non-EU citizens, is a law enabling these citizens to get a residence permit (without the right to work) for a period of five years, subject to renewal every five years, this permit will be given to the owners of properties in Greece from countries that are not members of the European Union, the property value should be more than 250,000 Euros; property owners can apply for this permit for themselves, their family members, and servants ; applications can be directed to the municipality, or to the Foreigners and Immigration Authority of the non-central authority in the place of residence of the applicant, or the General Secretariat of migration at the ministry of interior.
