H.E. Mr. Waleed bin Mohammed Al-Emadi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Hellenic Republic, held a reception on the occasion of the National Day of the State of Qatar. 

The ceremony was attended by a large gathering of senior officials in the Greek government, members of the Greek Parliament, a large number of businessmen, Media, Ambassadors and members of the Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations accredited to the Hellenic Republic, in addition to members of the of Arabic and Islamic communities in Athens.

In his speech on this occasion, HE the Ambassador of the State of Qatar welcomed the dignitaries and stressed that "We celebrate this National Day in 2021 under the slogan "Ancestral meadows: A matter of trust", which reflects the close – knit relationship of the Qataris with their environment, where they grew up and were influenced by its characteristics to shape and strengthen their identity, whereas its simplicity overwhelms morality, humility, common sense, words and politics aiming to create a fertile ground for the internal and external relations of their country.

The Principals of the Foreign Policy of the State of Qatar are based on the foundation of peace, security, stability, cooperation and friendship among all countries. On this basis, the State of Qatar has confirmed its support for peaceful resolution of conflicts, through mediating between all the friendly countries.

Since 2007, where Qatar has started diplomatic ties with Greece, we have seen the bilateral relations flourish and we renew today the bonds of the fruitful cooperation that brings amity to our two countries and benefits our citizens.

H.E. noted that the State of Qatar appreciate Greece's care of its friendship with the Arab world, its numerous initiatives and its support for other initiatives to bring peace to the region and to avoid conflicts.

Alongside the State of Qatar as the First Arab country to be hosting the World cup, conveys from the era of pearl diving to the preparation of hosting the World Cup 2022 that represents a platform for understanding and cultural communication between the different countries of the world and a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between the Arab Countries and the West.
