The Embassy of the State of Qatar in Athens, in cooperation with the Group of the Greek Veterans of Football, conducted a friendly soccer game in the framework the  National Sport Day of the State of Qatar. The event took place on Tuesday 12th February, 2019, at Veikou Park. as Heads of Foreign Diplomatic Missions in Athens, Directorates of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and many other officials from the field of Sport and Culture attended honored with their presence.

The State of Qatar has established itself on this day with the aim of promoting sport and highlighting the ethical and human values of it, both in physical health and in mental health. This decision by the State of Qatar also aims at educating citizens and spread the awareness of the significance of sports and their role in the wellbeing of individuals and societies in everyday life.

Upon the end of the game, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Athens distributed commemorative gifts to all participants.
