The Embassy of the State of Qatar in Athens celebrated the National Day of the State of Qatar, by organizing several cultural events during three days, with a distinguished presence of the Greek Political Officials, headed by the Minister of Justice, Transparency & Human Rights of Greece, HE. Mr. Michalis Kalogeros, the Deputy Minister of Economy & Development HE. Mr. Sterios Pitsiorlas, the Deputy Foreign Minister HE. Mr. Polaris, the Director of the Diplomatic Cabinet of the Parliament's Speaker, HE. Mr. Theokharos, the former Minister of Social Insurances HE, Mr.  Panagiotis Koroublis, as  a large number of Directors of the different Departments of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Representatives of the Greek Air Force and Military Attachés.

During his speech the Ambassador of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Athens, H.E Mr. Abdulaziz Ali Al-Naama, he stressed that " We celebrate this National Day in 2018 under the slogan "Qatar will remain free" which reflects the stable resistance and endurance of the State of Qatar against the blockade imposed by our neighbors. This small Country has proved to be ample, surpassing the problems in all fields of Education, Health, Economy, Investments and others. Qatar refuses to accept restrictions and limitations. It was, is and will remain free under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.".

The ceremony was also attended by the three Muftis of the Muslim minority in Northern Greece, the representative of the Archbishop of Athens and Greece, and figures from the world of business and civil society figures and the diplomatic corps accredited in Greece.

Also lots of Qatari Organizations had participated in the Embassy's celebrations,  including the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the National Commission for Human Rights, the Aspire Zone Foundation, the Higher Committee for Projects and Heritage, the Ministry of Interior, the Department of Souq Waqif, Katara, Qatar Airways and others...
