The Embassy of the State of Qatar in Athens celebrated the National Sport Day. The Embassy viewed the participation of persons with disabilities today as a belief in the importance of this segment and the effective group as an important part of the social fabric. In this context, a friendly match was held between the diplomats and a team of the Hellenic Wheelchair Basketball Federation.
The Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Hellenic Republic superintended the team of diplomats with the participation of some heads of Diplomatic Missions in Athens.
The match took place on Tuesday 13th February 2018, at indoor basketball court in Athens. Directors from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Hellenic Republic, athletes and officials for Sports and Culture Affairs also attended.
At the end of the match, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Athens distributed medals and souvenirs to the participants and expressed its thanks and appreciation to the Hellenic Wheelchair Basketball Federation.
The Greek side expressed its great recognition and gratitude to His Excellency the Ambassador of the State of Qatar in Athens for this initiative and the participation of this social group in the celebrations of the State of Qatar.
