H.E. Abdulaziz Ali Al-Naama, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Hellenic Republic, held a reception on the occasion of the National Day of the State of Qatar. 

The ceremony was attended by a large gathering of senior officials in the Greek government,  members of the Greek Parliament, a large number of businessmen, Media, Ambassadors and members of the Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations accredited to the Hellenic Republic, in addition to members of the of Arabic and Islamic communities in Athens.

In his speech on this occasion, H.E. the Ambassador of the State of Qatar welcomed the dignitaries and stressed that the State of Qatar today urges its steady line towards the brotherly and friendly countries of the world, especially the friendly Greek Republic. He also noted that the State of Qatar recognizes the importance of the Greek Republic's geostrategic position as a point of contact between the Arab and Islamic worlds on the one hand and the European Union on the other.

 H.E. said that the State of Qatar is celebrating the 2017 National Day under the slogan "Praise the Good and the Good", a statement of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of the country.

It should be noted that the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Greece organized during the event an exhibition of a number of Qatari heritage and cultural holdings that embrace the history of the State and its cultural process and the historical and urban monuments.

H.E. also announced the publication of the Greek-Qatari relations book, which contains valuable information about the two brotherly countries and their bilateral relations
