H.E. Mrs. Lina Mendoni Minister of Culture and Sports to the Hellenic Republic had an official visit to the State of Qatar from April 3 to 5 at the invitation of her Qatari counterpart H.E. Mr. Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali.
According to a ministry announcement, the two ministers' meeting focused on the widening and strengthening of cultural relations and bonds between Greece and Qatar.
H.E. Mrs. Mendoni also met with the President of the Authority of the Museums of Qatar H.H. Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani. Their talks covered issues as cooperation between the two countries' museums, conducting joint archaeological and excavating programmes, the exchange of experiences in the preservation of antiquities and works of art, the institutionalization of an agreement on cultural heritage protection issues, the organization of exhibitions and conferences and other events in the context of the organization of cultural weeks in Greece and Qatar.
Additionally, the Greek Minister  attended the inauguration of the exhibition of a copy of the statue of Iniohos of Delphi at Doha's metro. The copy of the statue, the Greek Government's gift to the Government of the State of Qatar, will be placed at the metro station of the International Airport of Doha. 
Mrs. Mendoni also visited Katara Village where she met with H.E. Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti.
The Greek Minister met also with the members of the Greek community in Doha.
